The conspiracy theorists were out in full force as last-minute tyre troubles spoiled the fantastic race for Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez in the #7 Toyota. The #8 crew of Fernando Alonso, Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima nabbed the lead in the final hour of the race.
There are just four hours to go in the 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours, and Toyota still has a 1-2 lead. The guest entered #63 Corvette Racing currently leads GTE Pro. Several strong contenders across the order suffered setbacks in the morning sunshine.

Safety car period for a stricken Aston Martin pulled the field apart during the third four-hour stint at Le Mans. Lady Luck shone on a select few cars, leaving others with lots of time to make up.
A dash of rain, some off-road excursions and a questionable bit of contact spiced up hours five to eight at Le Mans. Toyota still leads in LMP1, Signatech Alpine leads LMP2, while Porsche and Keating Motorsport leads GTE Pro and Am.
It's time to draw the FIA World Endurance Championship's Super Season to a close. The season's second running of the Le Mans 24 Hours is well underway at the Circuit de la Sarthe, and there's been plenty of action already.
After a very difficult six hours, Aston Martin Racing celebrated their second win of the Super Season, the first for the #97 crew, and a home win for Maxime Martin.
Technical dramas dashed the run of one-two finishes for Toyota as the #7 spent an extended stay in the garage. Victory still for Alonso, Nakajima and Buemi in the #8, with SMP and Rebellion joining them on the podium.
It’s another pole position at Spa for Harry Tincknell and Andy Priaulx in the #67 Ford. That’s four this season for Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK.
The #7 Toyota crew return to Spa with a score to settle. Having lost their pole position time last year, Kobayashi and Conway took on qualifying once more, and are back on top.
An excellent final sprint from Andy Priaulx gifts Ford the GTE Pro pole. Conway and Kobayashi prove unbeatable in LMP1. G-Drive and TF Sport on pole in LMP2 and GTE Am respectively.
Kobayashi flew to the top of free practice three, giving the #7 Toyota a time more than two seconds clear of the sister car. G-Drive finished quickest in LMP2, with Dempsey-Proton Competition running best in GTE Am. Porsche broke Aston Martin’s streak, as Bruni took the #91 to the top of the board.
A rain-soaked free practice two saw Toyota finish back on top. Aston Martin continue to make their mark in GTE Pro with 1st and 3rd fastest times.
Track action has begun at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps with SMP Racing drawing first blood in free practice one. Signatech Alpine, Aston Martin and Gulf Racing finished quickest in their respective classes.
