Oliver Turvey Latest Driver to be Confirmed at CEFC TRSM

Oliver Turvey has become the latest driver to be confirmed by LMP1 team CEFC TRSM for the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship Super Season.

It was announced earlier today that 31-year-old British driver Oliver Turvey would be joining CEFC TRSM for the upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship Super Season. He will be joining the #6 crew alongside Oliver Rowland and Alex Brundle who was confirmed earlier this month. Currently driving full-time for NIO Formula E team, Turvey has been out of prototype racing since his 2nd place Le Mans finish in 2015 with Jota Sport, but this opportunity with Manor will give Turvey his fourth start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as his debut in LMP1.

In an article on DailySportscar, Turvey said: “I am delighted to be joining CEFC TRSM Racing for the 2018/19 Super Season in the FIA World Endurance Championship. After winning at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2, it has always been my aim to race in the top category and to challenge for the overall victory. I would like to thank my NIO Formula E team for allowing me to take up this opportunity and I am very grateful to Graeme Lowdon, John Booth and all at CEFC TRSM Racing for selecting me to race with their team in LMP1.

“I can’t wait to get in the car for the first round of the WEC at Spa!”

“It is great to have another big talent in our driver line up with the addition of Oliver,” said Graeme Lowdon, CEFC TRSM’s President and Sporting Director. “He has vast experience in sports cars including three 24 Hours of Le Mans which is, of course, beneficial for us.

“We are very happy and confident with our completed driver line-up and we have been working hard since the Prologue to ensure that we are in the best possible shape for the first race at Spa in a few weeks time. Although it will be a big challenge for all of the new LMP1-NH teams, we are now just keen to go racing.”

CEFC TRSM have now confirmed a total of six drivers, with the sister car being driven by Leo Roussel, Ginetta factory driver Charlie Robertson and Dean Stoneman.
